CHALLENGE

Disney Consumer Products (DCP) is responsible for licensing the company’s intellectual property to fashion, toy and home production manufacturers. Upholding the quality of the brand is an inherent challenge in every transaction. The purpose of this course is to provide a baseline of quality requirements that must be adhered to in order to protect the brand.

We learned early on that the DCP team was not a fan of dull “page-turner” eLearning and understood that engaging them would require a clever approach.

SOLUTION

To capture the attention of our audience of creative professionals, the CM Team built on Level One with these additional techniques:

  • Disney Art Museum UI metaphor – works of art on the wall linked to related content
  • Navigation by “walking through the museum”
  • Parallax view set other visitors in foreground for immersive effect
  • Video – informal chats with key leadership

Learners were invited to tour the gallery by moving their mouse left or right. Pictures on the wall would then pass in front of them as if they were moving through the gallery. A parallax effect was used to give depth between the guests in the foreground and art on the walls. Clicking a picture, launched learning in that category.

BENEFITS

The benefit of level two delivery for this project was the addition of an engaging and interactive user interface. This allowed the course to be more appealing to this target audience than a tradition level one project would be.
