Manager, e-Learning Development

Position Summary

We are looking for an exceptional individual to lead our development team of six staff and additional contractor associates engaged in the development of media rich, highly interactive e-Learning and performance tools.

CraneMorley is a premiere e-Learning design firm located in Long Beach, CA that has served global industry leaders in the automotive, powersports and other industries successfully for more than twenty years.  Our development of innovative e-Learning and interactive performance tools serve as the catalyst for moving training from its traditional “cost of doing business” status to an essential element in our clients’ strategic business plans. 

Position in Detail

Reporting to CraneMorley’s President, this position works closely with CM’s other managers while leading the development team to create innovative e-Learning solutions and tools.  These deliverables take the form of:

  • e-Learning courses
  • Interactive planning tools and business simulations
  • Web sites for learning management and tracking
  • Customization of existing client LMS and extranet site
Duties

While leading CM’s development team, this position:

  • Supervises and mentors the development team
  • Supervises project budgets, schedules and the quality of the deliverables
  • Leads concept brainstorming
  • Determines technical feasibility of creative design.
  • Allocates personnel as required to accomplish project objectives
  • Interfaces with vendors and service providers to ensure efficient deployment and delivery of projects
  • Recommends build vs. buy decisions
  • Prepares the technical approach and budget for proposals
  • Ensures integration with client LMS platforms
Requirements
  • Strong project and people management skills. Must be able to function as a project leader as well as an individual contributor
  • Led diverse teams of 5 or more people in dynamic and fast-paced and globally diverse environments
  • 7+ years of industry experience
  • 5+ years project management experience in delivering internet solutions in a client-service organization
  • Experienced multiple full project lifecycles from business development to final delivery
  • Extensive experience planning, designing, and building vast verity of interactive components
  • Detail oriented and strong initiative for using latest technology
  • Working knowledge of HTML, XML, Flash, ActionScript, audio and video assets, SCORM LMS standards, typical corporate extranet standards and content publishing workflow .
  • (Major Plus) Flex,  ASP, .NET
  • Broad knowledge of Web 2.0 applications, advanced skills in visual design, information architecture, usability evaluation, and appropriate technologies
