The demand for skilled workers is greater than ever. Whether that is because of an aging workforce (baby boomers) retired/retiring soon or workers laid off during the pandemic who refuse to return to work. Technological advancements have made onboarding workers a daunting task for companies when they do find new employees.
One of the keys to solving the skills gap is mixed reality solutions. Microsoft HoloLens 2, Dynamics 365 Guides and Remote Assist can transform how companies train and operate moving forward. A few benefits include self-paced training, reduced time to competency, and remote operations.
As we dive into this issue further, several published articles have pointed out upskilling and reskilling the workforce as a possible solution. This helps but does not solve the significant time and investment to train employees or the issue of who will replace employees once they move into new positions.
